While seeking the new ways of an language expression in easel painting, Abdrashit Sydykhanov has been working for the «Kazakhlm» studio as the production-designer. During 25 years of work he created more than 1000 drawings for various motion pictures. Among these lms are: «Kulager», «The Beauty in Mourning», «Chokan Valikhanov» serial, which received the State Award (1986).
1980-ies were marked by many critics as the culmination period of A.Sydykhanov's art. During this period Sydykhanoy created his widely- known paintings - «Lark's Song» (1982), «White spring» (1986), «Crows' shepherd» (1987) by changing his usual style of painting.
The art exhibition «Symbolic painting of Abdnashit Sydykhanov» held in 1989 in A.Kasteev State Art Museum marked the beginning of another period of his artlife. It can be named as «associative». By using «tanba» — the images of patrimonial signs of Kazaks, gurative elements and symbols of Turkic peoples, the artist created on canvas the whole playing eld of associations. The plots of Eastern parables lied in the base of another big series of works by Sydykhanov.
Since the middle of the 1990-ies the painter found interest in the expressiveness of white color. Thus he created the famous «white serie», which includes the «Empty Boat», the «Nest», the «Loneliness», «the Girl's breast» Mountain» paintings.
